Current Draw Details
On October 6, IRCC conducted its sixth French-language proficiency category draw of the year, issuing 4,500 ITAs to candidates.
The specific requirements for this draw were:
- Minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: 432 points
- Candidate Pool Creation Time: Express Entry candidate profile must have been created before 7:07 p.m. Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on June 13, 2025
This represents the largest number of invitations issued in a French-language category draw since September 4, when IRCC also issued 4,500 ITAs to French-speaking candidates.
Outstanding Performance of French-Language Category Draws in 2025
Notably, French-language category draws have featured the largest draw sizes among all draw types in 2025. On March 21 this year, IRCC issued 7,500 invitations in a single French-language category draw, setting this year's record.
Statistical data shows that as of this draw, French-language candidates have accumulated 30,000 ITAs in 2025, ranking first among all Express Entry categories.
This trend is closely aligned with the federal government's immigration policy direction. IRCC plans to increase Francophone immigration targets outside Quebec next year, and the Express Entry French-language proficiency category is the primary pathway to achieve this goal. This suggests there may be more category-specific draws for French-speaking candidates in the future.
October Draw Overview
This draw represents the second invitation round in October. Prior to this, IRCC conducted the following draws in October and late September:
- October 1: Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw
- September 29: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw
- September 18: Trade category draw
2025 Express Entry Overall Statistics
To date, IRCC has issued 70,338 ITAs through the Express Entry system in 2025.
This year's draws have primarily focused on the Provincial Nominee Program, with remaining invitations distributed among Canadian Experience Class candidates, French-language proficiency candidates, and priority occupation category candidates.
2025 Draw Frequency by Category:
Draw Type | Number of Draws |
---|---|
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 18 |
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) | 10 |
French-language proficiency | 6 |
Healthcare and social services | 4 |
Education | 2 |
Trade | 1 |
Cumulative ITAs Issued by Category in 2025:
Draw Type | ITAs Issued |
---|---|
French-language proficiency | 30,000 |
Canadian Experience Class | 21,850 |
Healthcare and social services | 7,500 |
Provincial Nominee Program | 6,947 |
Education | 3,500 |
Trade | 1,250 |
The data reveals that while the Provincial Nominee Program has the highest number of draws, the invitation volume per draw is relatively small. In contrast, French-language category and Canadian Experience Class draws issue larger numbers of invitations per draw, thus dominating the total invitation count.
Implications for Applicants
For applicants intending to immigrate to Canada through the Express Entry system, French-language proficiency is becoming an increasingly important advantage. Candidates with French-language skills not only have more opportunities to receive invitations, but the required CRS score threshold remains relatively stable. The current minimum score of 432 points offers a competitive advantage compared to other categories.
With the federal government's further enhancement of Francophone immigration targets, French-language category draws are expected to continue maintaining large invitation volumes and high draw frequencies in future Express Entry selections.
