Canada's Express Entry Latest: Targeted Draw for Provincial Nominees as CRS Score Remains High

Latest Draw Details: Focus on PNP with a Stringent Score Requirement

In its most recent Express Entry draw, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 503 Invitations to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence to candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

To be considered for this invitation round, candidates needed to meet two core criteria:

  1. A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 742.
  2. Have created an Express Entry profile before 9:44 p.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on May 30, 2025.

Review of 2025 Express Entry Draws: PNP Category Leads the Way

This draw marks the fifth Express Entry invitation round of the month, following a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on June 12, a smaller PNP-specific draw on June 10, and a category-based selection for healthcare and social services professionals on June 4.

Throughout 2025, IRCC has issued a cumulative total of 38,845 Invitations to Apply through the Express Entry system. The distribution of draws by category is as follows:

Draw TypeNumber of Draws
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)11
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)5
French-language proficiency3
Healthcare and social services2
Education1

The data clearly indicates that the Provincial Nominee Program has been the most prominent category in the Express Entry system in 2025, with the number of PNP-specific draws far exceeding the total of all other categories combined. This underscores the close collaboration between Canada's federal and provincial governments in attracting and selecting skilled talent that meets specific regional economic needs.

Official Reminder: The Critical Importance of Application Integrity

Alongside the draw results, IRCC reiterated the paramount importance of honesty in all applications. Candidates who receive an ITA must submit a complete application for permanent residence to officially become an "applicant."

The department has issued a stern warning that any false information provided during the application process is considered "misrepresentation" and can result in severe penalties, including:

  • A Five-Year Ban: An applicant found to have submitted false information in their Express Entry profile can be barred from re-entering the pool for five years.
  • Inadmissibility to Canada: Misrepresentation can lead to a finding of inadmissibility, which not only jeopardizes the current application but will also have long-term negative consequences on any future attempts to enter Canada.

IRCC defines misrepresentation as directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts that could lead to an error in the administration of Canadian immigration law. The onus is on the applicant to ensure the complete truthfulness of their application and the authenticity of all supporting documents. An applicant can be found guilty of misrepresentation regardless of whether the act was intentional.

Therefore, all prospective applicants are strongly advised to exercise the utmost honesty and diligence at every stage of preparing and submitting their immigration application to uphold the integrity of Canada's immigration system and ensure a smooth path for their own journey.
